Reduce your Montana State Income Tax Bill?

The state of Montana allows for a direct credit against taxes for individual planned gifts and corporate gifts made to qualified endowments of Montana charities. The Montana Qualified Endowment Tax Credit is a huge advantage for people and businesses wanting to help out charities with substantial year end gifts.

The Montana Qualified Endowment Tax Credit provides:
  • Individuals and Estates an opportunity to take a tax credit of 40% against Montana State Income Taxes of the present value of a planned gift made to a qualified endowment.
  • Corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies are allowed to take a tax credit of 20% of the value of a gift to a qualified endowment.
In all cases, the credit is limited to $10,000 per year.

St Patrick Hospital & Health Foundation is qualified to receive these gifts and give you a tremendous advantage on your taxes.

This tax provision is a big advantage for Montana tax payers. As an example, a planned gift worth $25,000 by an individual may cost as little as $8,750 after taxes, depending on tax rates. For corporations, a gift of $50,000 may cost the business as little as $23,000 after taxes are considered.

If you would like to learn more about endowments at St Patrick Hospital & Health Foundation or about how you can take advantage of these tax provisions please call us at 406-329-5640. A Foundation representative can prepare a confidential illustration for you to consider. Of course, there is no obligation to make a gift.
